Next-Stage Roadmap
These are recommendations based on current evidence, not completed features. The order closes physical experience and recoverability before expanding content.
P0 / Closure and sign-off
- Independently review the current ESP32 v7 diff and preserve a dedicated milestone.
- Run a 2–5 minute physical matrix: three holds, long edge drag, SHOP center crossing, card pullback, STAR double confirm and settings battery.
- Record AMOLED color, bezel occlusion and HIGH tilt in dark and daylight conditions.
- Continue splitting render ≈23 ms from present ≈7 ms in the complex save, targeting stable 29+ FPS.
P1 / Device reliability
- Long battery-discharge and fuel-gauge calibration report.
- Repeated standby/wake/shutdown plus NVS failure injection.
- External-speaker impedance, volume and distortion validation.
- Versioned OTA/recovery only after power-loss and rollback design.
P2 / Production security
- Separate evaluation of Secure Boot, Flash Encryption and production eFuses.
- Signed firmware, key custody, debug-port policy and factory-recovery boundary.
- Keep an independent test board for irreversible security work.
P3 / Content expansion
- Use reserved
storageor microSD for Seed skins, sound and archive content without changing core save schema. - Preserve 466×466 clearance and 30/15/2 FPS contracts before adding STAR RUSH events.
- Keep every asset behind 16-color, binary-alpha, RGB565, sheet-geometry and bezel-clearance gates.
Measures
| Direction | Suggested measure |
|---|---|
| Interaction | Repeatable human matrix with no false commit or passthrough |
| Performance | Most complex unlocked save ≥29 FPS with explainable p95 frame time |
| Power | Current curves for Full/Reduced/Ambient ON/OFF/shutdown |
| Saves | Reproducible power loss, corrupt primary, migration, factory and rollback |
| Audio | Measured pressure/distortion for five volume steps |
| Release | Verifiable firmware hash, version, rollback and device identity |
